The first leg of the trip will be spent in Samara, on the west coast of Costa Rica. It is about a 2 hour shuttle from the Liberia Airport. All the hotels/restaurants/shops/beach are walking distance (it's a small beach town).

The second leg of the trip will be spent in the Rincon de la Vieja National Park. The hotel is in the middle of the jungle by waterfalls, hot springs and the Rincón de la Vieja Volcano.

The LIR airport is located between the two destinations. Phoenix folks will land around 2:30pm on Saturday. Our flight departs around 11am on Sunday.

Anyone traveling with the group won't have to worry about shuttles. I'll have them covered. If you land outside the times the main group will be traveling, you can schedule a private shuttle or time it right for a shared shuttle. Private shuttles are around $175 to Samara and about $135 to Rincon de la Vieja. Here is the link to the shuttle website:

The AirBNB is located just north of the Hotel Belvedere in Samara Beach. This will serve as the home base for the beach portion of the vacation. It has a pool, outdoor showers, etc. Feel free to come and hang out as often as you'd like... or do your own thing. Do you, boo boo. Here's the link if you want to check it out:

Most hotels are under $100/night unless you want to get bougie. As long as you get a hotel in Samara Beach, you'll be within walking distance of the AirBNB.

This is the closest hotel to the AirBNB. Doesn't have an online reservation system, but you can reach out to them through their website to book. ~$70/night
Residencias Sámara
Also very close to the AirBNB. Has an online reservation system. ~$75/night

This place has some sick rooms and is closer to the beach. ~$125/night

Rincon de la Vieja | May 21st - 24th
In the Heart of the Jungle, Volcano-side
We will all be staying in the same hotel at the Hotel Hacienda Guachipelin in Rincon de la Vieja. They have a bar and restaurant on site, along with free access to the surrounding waterfalls and hot springs. Rooms start at a little over $100/night and get up there if you want a fancier room. Arrival Day! We land in Liberia around 2:30pm. A shuttle will be ready to take us from the Liberia airport to Samara. It will take us around 2-2½ hours to get to Samara. The shuttle will stop at the AirBNB and any hotels to drop folks off. The AirBNB/hotels/bars/restaurants/beach are all walking distance from each other.

Shuttle will take us from Samara to the Hotel in Rincon de la Vieja. We pass by the airport for anyone leaving after leg 1 (flight departs at 1:20pm to Phx) There are waterfalls and hot springs to check out by the hotel.
